Dr. Armin Bandari is a board-certified non-invasive cardiologist and the founder of San Luis Obispo Heart, a practice dedicated to quality cardiovascular care and an exceptional patient experience. Dr. Bandari has proudly served the Central Coast community since 2008. He brings over 15 years of experience in advanced cardiac imaging, general cardiology, preventive cardiology, and the diagnosis and management of congestive heart failure.
Dr. Bandari was the first cardiologist in San Luis Obispo to earn the prestigious board certification in Echocardiography, reflecting his leadership in cardiac imaging. He is also board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Nuclear Cardiology.
Dr. Bandari is a native of Chicago. As an undergraduate, he attended the University of Michigan, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in "Studies in Religion" and graduating with class honors for academic excellence. He received his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago and completed both his Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at leading academic centers — Rush University Medical Center and the University of Wisconsin Aurora Health Care program, respectively. Dr. Bandari is also a recipient of the National Institutes of Health Intramural Research Training Award.
Dr. Bandari believes the best outcomes in medicine are achieved by examining all aspects of a patient’s history—medical, personal, and emotional. He is known for providing thoughtful, high-quality, and compassionate cardiac care, always focused on delivering the best possible patient experience.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and remains deeply committed to heart health in the San Luis Obispo community.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Bandari enjoys travel, jazz music, hiking, and college football, interests that reflect his appreciation for both rhythm and resilience.
